Trapped Recap

Harley's quest for conquering Gotham continues! This week, she's aiming for Mr. Freeze's lair, and she is determined to get in there by any means necessary, even by stealing Firefly's coveted flamethrower. But the quest to get the flamethrower is going to lead Harley and her gang through another adventure, this time in a museum, and with Catwoman and Kite Man tagging along. Curious? Read on for more!
- An Impenetrable Fortress: Harley and her Crew attempt to break into Mr. Freeze’s icy lair, with very little success. Dr. Psycho and King Shark are freezing and want Harley to let it go, but Harley is determined to get vengeance on every member of the Injustice League for what they did to her. Thanks to two guards with little brain and talk filters, they reveal that Harley would need Firefly’s flamethrower in order to get in. They also reveal the location of this flamethrower, and with the intel in store, Harley and her Crew leave on a mission to acquire the flamethrower.
- Domestic Bliss: Kite Man gives Harley and Ivy a ride to the Gotham Museum of Natural History, where Doctor Trap houses all his loot. It’s revealed that Ivy and Kite Man have gotten pretty comfortable being in a relationship together, going as far as making chili together instead of eating out. Once Kite Man leaves, Harley tries to get Ivy to see the light that she can do better than Kite Man, but Ivy isn’t willing to hear it. It’s easy to get into the museum, and Doctor Trap is waiting for them. He tells them that they can take anything they want… if they survive his traps. Easy peasy, right? Not so much, given that they test one of the traps out and it proves to be much harder than they thought.
- Riddle Me This: Back at Harley’s lair, the Riddler is still being put to work on his hamster wheel. He intimidates Dr. Psycho, who grows irate that the Riddler won’t take him seriously as a villain. The two banter until Dr. Psycho loses his temper and starts throwing bottles of lotion at him.
- A Feline Assist: Since she needs some help in getting the flamethrower, Harley calls upon the best burglar she knows; Catwoman. Ivy doesn’t want to rely on Catwoman, given that she’s flakey and only looks out for herself, but the attitude immediately changes once Selina arrives. Ivy immediately goes into fangirl mode, and it’s a little tough to swallow. Catwoman agrees to help, given that she’s had her eye on a ruby from the museum.
- Museum Heist: Catwoman, Harley, Ivy and Kite Man all meet at the museum to conduct the heist. Ivy shows off Kite Man to Catwoman, but Selina isn’t too impressed. Kite Man bids goodbye to them all, explaining that he’s deathly afraid of traps, and Harley’s peeved at Catwoman for taking the lead. Before Harley can enter, Kite Man pulls her to the side and tells her he actually is joining them, because he wants to steal a special ring from the museum to propose to Ivy with. Harley isn’t so thrilled at the idea, given that she thinks they’re moving too fast, but Kite Man insists.
- Quest to Impress: With Ivy and Catwoman on their own, Catwoman asks her about Kite Man. As the two talk, Catwoman notes that Ivy’s changed; she’s no longer doing things for her own goals and merit, but rather is following Harley’s plans and goals. This doesn’t sit too well with Ivy, especially as she’s been trying (and failing) to impress Catwoman this whole time.
- Duo of Disaster: Harley and Kite Man continue through the maze of traps, with Kite Man taking the brute force of the damage. You know, because he’s Kite Man. Harley is still wary about his and Ivy’s relationship, but she starts to warm up to the idea after Kite Man explains why he’s so in love with her. The two of them find the ring he’s looking for, but just as they do, Kite Man activates another trap and lands himself in a Spider Web at the mercy of a giant spider.
- Disappearing Trick: While Dr. Psycho mulls over Riddler’s harsh critiques, King Shark reveals that Riddler was able to use the lotion bottles thrown at him to escape the hamster wheel. Knowing that Harley will kill him if she returns and Riddler’s gone, Dr. Psycho puts the remaining crew to work at finding him. Riddler isn’t making it easy, though. In true Riddler style, he’s left them a riddle to find him.
- A Petty Theft: Harley and Kite Man finally meet up with Ivy and Catwoman at the site of the flamethrower. While Catwoman helps Harley get it, Ivy goes to Kite Man and asks what he’s doing there. He attempts to propose with the ring, only to find out that Catwoman has stolen it from him. Catwoman vanishes, and Harley takes the flamethrower, only to trap themselves in a glass cage with a falling ceiling, threatening to crush them at any moment.
- Hide and Seek: The crew continues to search for Riddler to no avail. Dr. Psycho warns that he isn’t taking the fall for this alone, and the crew ramp up their efforts. However, Sy accidentally shoots Psycho with a dart gun, mistaking him for Riddler, putting Psycho out of commission.
- Those in Glass Houses: With seconds away from being crushed, each member of the team laments something else. Kite Man continues to try and propose to Ivy, while Ivy surmises that Catwoman was right and that the only reason they’re in this situation is because of Harley’s need for the flamethrower. This, however, triggers an idea. As the flamethrower can melt anything, Harley uses it on the glass and tries to get them out. Meanwhile, Kite Man is still stuck on his proposal, annoying Ivy to the point where she breaks up with him. As the three escape the glass cage, Harley sets her sights on Doctor Trap, intending to get him back for nearly killing them.
- Calves of Steel: Back at her lair, Harley shows off her new flamethrower to the team, before realizing that something’s amiss. The team admits that they lost the Riddler, aggravating Harley. They all go to look for him, finding Dr. Psycho running on the hamster wheel and Riddler sitting innocently beside him. He lets Dr. Psycho off the wheel and returns to his place, explaining that he’s quite happy with his position there, that he gets fed and enough cardio, and that’s much better than facing the world of Gotham out there.
- Indecent Proposal: Over at Ace Chemicals, Harley meets Ivy as she’s giving some rather harsh justice to the goons who dumped the chemicals into the harbor. The two talk out Ivy’s feelings of conflict over not being more like Catwoman, but Harley explains to her that she’ll never be Catwoman because she has people that love her; especially Kite Man. With that in mind, Ivy goes to Kite Man’s place and apologizes for her behavior back at the museum. She tells him to ask her to marry him again. Cliffhanger!

Riddle U Recap
4/10/2020 8:39 pm
Harley’s going back to college! Well, university. And she’s taking Ivy with her. In this gem of an episode, Harley and Ivy infiltrate Riddle U to get their revenge on the Riddler. While there, they run into Barbara Gordon (we know!) and try to figure out what’s been going on that’s causing the power shortages in the rest of Gotham. Intrigued? Read on for more!
- No Power: Thanks to the Riddler, most of Gotham has no electricity or running water. He’s sucked all the power right to his kitschy Riddler University, leaving everyone else stranded. Harley won’t stand for it and immediately concocts a plan to distribute power back to herself. She wants to sneak into the university with Ivy, and Clayface sees this as an excellent opportunity to transform into a college girl and use his acting skills. Harley and Ivy immediately veto that course of action and go with her original plan. Meanwhile, Dr. Psycho and King Shark set out on a mission to get a water filter.
- A Thirst For Education: Outside of Riddle U, a mob of people demand to be let in, with no success. However, Harley and Ivy are able to sneak past the mob simply by using Kite Man to fly right over and into the school. Clad in makeup to hide their appearances, Harley and Ivy join a local school tour led by none other than Barbara Gordon. Also joining them is Stephanie, otherwise known as Clayface in disguise. Clayface has settled in well to the college atmosphere, blending in seamlessly.
- Water Woes: Meanwhile, Dr. Psycho and King Shark have managed to obtain a water filter. It’s not long before they’re quickly accosted by Two Face’s goons, given that they’re on ‘his’ territory. The goons shoot at them mercilessly, leaving the two to come up with some way of escape.
- Blending In: After the tour, Harley and Ivy pull Clayface aside and make him get intel on the Riddler’s whereabouts while they snoop around. Right after, Harley spies who she thinks is the Riddler and attacks him, only to be discouraged when it’s actually the Riddle U mascot. In the altercation, Harley’s makeup smudged and Barbara recognized her. Despite a chase, Barbara got away.
- Daddy Dearest: Harley and Ivy find Barbara’s dorm room and gently tie her up so they can all talk. Barbara explains that she also wants someone to take down the Riddler, especially because students have been disappearing from the school and she thinks he’s behind it. Harley and Ivy decide to trust her, and it’s then that we learn that Barbara’s father, Jim Gordon, has been crashing with her in her room. After they distract him, Barbara notes that the Riddler keeps going to a frat house, where people go in but don’t come out. She has three wristbands to a party that evening and invites Harley and Ivy to join her, but they just take the wristbands and leave.
- A Daring Escape: Back with Dr. Psycho and King Shark, the two remain surrounded and shot at by Two Face’s goons. Lucky for them, they find a car, and with Dr. Psycho at the wheel and King Shark shooting at the goons, they are able to make their escape. With the police on their tail, they’re on the loose!
- The VIP: Outside the Frat house, Harley and Ivy grab Clayface and give him the bracelet, only for him to reveal that he already has one; a VIP band. This band allows ‘Steph’ entrance to the secret room in the back, a room where Harley and Ivy aren’t allowed. However, Clayface is a little too wrapped up in his college persona, so Harley and Ivy have to snap him back to reality so he goes into the secret room.
- We Need the Bat: Barbara tries to convince her father to go after the Riddler’s schemes, but Jim is insistent that he’s done with that life. He’s content to just laze about his daughter’s dorm room, drink beer, and watch TV. He says they need the bat, that he needs the bat. But this gives Barbara an idea, as she leaves him behind and goes to do some sleuthing on her own.
- The Secret Room: Clayface has been gone for a while, so Harley and Ivy have to go after him. Harley takes down the bouncer when no one is looking and she and Ivy enter the VIP room. Deep inside, they find all of the missing students running on hamster wheels, fueling the power that’s keeping the University running. As soon as they’ve figured out his plan, the Riddler enters the picture and has his goonies snatch them up. Within minutes, Harley and Ivy are out of commission.
- Bane Land: Dr. Psycho and King Shark continue their escape out of Two Face’s territory, but they soon find themselves out of the frying pan and into the oven; aka, Bane’s territory. The Bane goons are quick to intimidate them, and the two realize they’re outmatched against them.
- A Secret Savior: Harley and Ivy are trapped on Riddler’s hamster wheels, and Clayface is too deep into his ‘Steph’ character to be of any help. Lucky for them, Barbara has arrived to save the day. Though it isn’t perfect, she is able to use her quick thinking to knock the Riddler out and free Harley and Ivy from the wheels. Harley and Ivy assist in taking the goons down, and once everyone’s out for the count, Barbara says she’ll call her dad to take them all to Arkham. Obviously, Harley and Ivy can’t let that happen and take Riddler for themselves.
- All's Well That Ends Well: Back in the lair, Harley puts Riddler to work, having him run on his own hamster wheel to bring them power. Dr. Psycho and King Shark finally arrive with the water filter, but with the power back on, it turns out that their whole mission was for nothing. Given that they had to get inducted into Bane’s army, they’re not too happy about that. Meanwhile Harley wonders what will happen to Barbara, but Ivy assures her that after the adrenaline wears off, she’ll move on from being a vigilante. However, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. With Batman gone, she makes herself a costume and becomes her own hero.

New Gotham Recap
4/3/2020 12:39 pm
After a short break, Harley Quinn is back and ready for action! We gave a little bit of info in our spoiler-free review, but now that the Season Two premiere has aired, it’s time to dig into the details. With Gotham in a state of utter chaos, Harley makes the mistake of not claiming the city for her own. As a result, the leading crime lords of Gotham take matters into their own hands and try to teach Harley a little lesson. Intrigued? Read on!
- God Help Gotham City: The president of the United States opens the show with a depressing message for the country: since Gotham’s in total destruction, it will no longer be considered a part of the United States. Free territory! Obviously, Harley’s not bothered by this news at all; in fact, she’s thriving in this chaos, just living her best life and kidnapping Michelin star sushi chefs to feed her crew. Ivy, however, isn’t totally satisfied. She advises Harley that she should stop playing around and take Gotham for her own. Harley doesn’t quite get the message, despite Ivy’s best intentions.
- Turf War: As always, Harley should have heeded Ivy’s advice. Moments later, goons from both the Penguin and Two Face arrive, claiming that Harley’s home base is now their turf. We hate to say we told you so, Harley. She goes to deal with these goons, rallying them up at a seedy pub and explaining that they no longer have to serve the head honchos; everyone can be their own villain! Surprisingly, they listen.
- Everyone’s A Villain: The goons and henches take to Harley’s advice almost immediately. They turn on their former bosses, taking matters into their own hands and ruling for themselves. Harley relishes the insanity and encourages everyone further, but the old head-honchos aren’t quite so happy with her. Two Face, Riddler, Penguin, Bane, and new addition Mr. Freeze hold a meeting to discuss what to do. They need goons. And clearly, they aren’t getting any with Harley’s interference.
- Baby Bat To The Rescue: Meanwhile, Jim Gordon laments the destruction of his city and the disappearance of Batman. He keeps the signal on, hoping that Batman will come, but instead, Damian arrives in his father’s costume. Batman isn’t answering his texts, so Damian has taken up the mantle and is prepared to handle things until Batman returns. For everyone’s sake, let’s hope that it’s soon.
- Misunderstanding: Harley returns from her ingredients hunt in Gotham, delivering steak to her hyenas and ginger to the sushi chef. Ivy pulls her aside and tells her that she meant for Harley to take the city for her own, not to encourage the goons to liberate themselves. Instead of taking the city and ruling it on her own, now they have a thousand villain-wannabes to annoy them. Before they can get further into it, Harley is invited to a meeting of the Injustice League.
- The Injustice League: Harley arrives at the meeting, where all the big-bads are waiting. Turns out, they’re the Injustice League and they’ve invited her to this meeting. According to them, Harley’s actions have caused them to band together and establish a crime-hierarchy so that things can resume as normal once again. To do this, they’ve split up Gotham into sections where each of them will rule independently. However… they’ve given Harley the worst piece, and she’s not taking it sitting down. The Injustice League figured she would say that, and freeze her as a result.
- A Rousing Speech: Jim Gordon tries to rally the remaining cops, giving them an encouraging speech and promising them that Batman is still out there. It works for all of five seconds before Two Face comes in and takes matters into his own hands. Poor Jim just can’t seem to catch a break. With no other option, he leaves and attempts to find Batman on his own. Unfortunately, he isn’t even able to make it out of the city before being accosted by villains— his own cops! Left with nothing to hope for, he tosses his badge into the Gotham harbor.
- Operation Rescue Harley: An indeterminate amount of time later, the Penguin throws a party, using a frozen Harley as his centerpiece. Lucky for her, the crew has arrived to save her! Using their… unique recon skills, they were able to hide themselves within the party and cause a big enough distraction to get Harley away. Because they’re them, things don’t go over as smooth as they’d hoped and they’re eventually found out and chased after. Using a partially frozen Harley as a prop in addition to their own tactics, they’re pretty successful in getting away, up until ice-block Harley slides right in front of Penguin.
- Harley vs. Penguin: Naturally, Harley is pretty pissed with Penguin for keeping her on ice. Penguin taunts Harley and makes the mistake of getting too close to her— close enough for Harley to bite his nose and rip it off! Honestly, Penguin should know better. She falls backwards as a result, breaking her fully out of the block of ice. The two face off, but Penguin isn’t a match for Harley. She kills him rather gruesomely, just in time for her gang to rejoin her and watch it all happen.
- Second Thoughts: Back at home, Jim Gordon comes up with another plan to fish his badge out of the harbor, restart the GCPD, and fix the city anew with his wife. Of course, Barbara isn’t so on board, and calls for a divorce. Can’t honestly say we blame her.
- The New-New Gotham: Over drinks, Ivy reveals that Harley’s been on ice for two months. They’d been trying to rescue her during these two months, but it hadn’t been easy. Harley asks if she’d missed anything important, and Ivy takes her up to the roof, where she reveals that after the goons fell back to their former leaders, the Injustice League enacted their ‘New-New Gotham’ plan and have split up the city. Harley vows to get them all back for doing this for her, and so Season’s Two main plot comes into play!
- A Hero Unmasked: A medical team reveals that they pulled a mysterious John-Doe from the Joker’s Tower months ago, and that the swelling in his face should have gone down enough to reveal who he is. They pull off the bandages to reveal… Bruce Wayne! Batman lives!
